After a successful career in cross-country racing, Kathrin Stirnemann is now driving the future of mountain biking as a Swiss national squad coach and e-MTB racer.

Kathrin Stirnemann has World, European, and Swiss Championship titles to her name in XCO and XCE, plus major championship medals and World Cup podiums. After a career which was rooted as a young girl with a passion for racing, grew into a successful, professional cross-country campaign, and even finished with a stint on a World-Tour road team, Kathrin retired at the end of 2020. The popular and well-respected rider is still very much part of the friendly MTB family, but now Kathrin’s role has switched primarily to coaching.

Following in her father’s footsteps, she trained as a coach and now leads the Swiss U19 national mountain bike girls as well as being heavily involved in her local club in Granichen. Kathrin’s racing instinct and tremendous talent is not just channeled towards her athletes though, she is also taking on the e-MTB World with a silver medal at last year’s World Championships as a brilliant starting point. Staying with the blue-blooded Thomus RN Swiss Bike Team with whom she has ridden since 2018, Kathrin is powered by the SHIMANO EP8 motor.

With e-mountain bike World Cup podiums already this year, and World Champs just around the corner, we are excited to continue the journey with Kathrin, a rider who is really driving the future of the sport.
