Yeti/Fox Factory rider Richie Rude once again proves himself to be among the most formidable names in Enduro racing with a dominating 2024 EDR season and a UCI World Cup series victory. This win marks Richie's fourth Enduro World Cup Series title (2x EWS and 2x EDR), solidifying his position as one of the sport's all-time greats.

Capping off a brilliant season, Richie went on to claim a bronze medal at the inaugural UCI Enduro World Championship in Val di Fassa, Italy. This hard-fought podium showcased Richie’s consistent performance and focus across the toughest terrain and against the fieriest competing in unpredictable conditions.

A Season Dominated by Richie Rude

Richie’s victory in the EDR World Cup Series was not an overnight achievement but the result of a season of dominance that started strong and never wavered. He kicked off his 2024 campaign with an emphatic win at Finale Ligure, one of the sport’s most iconic and grueling venues, and carried that momentum through the next five rounds of racing.

Throughout the season, Richie displayed unmatched consistency, securing either a win or a podium finish at every event, a rare accomplishment in such a demanding and unpredictable sport.

“It’s been a big year for me being on the podium at every race this season,” Richie said. “It feels really great to back up my 2023 Enduro World Series title with the 2024 UCI World Cup EDR title. It is so important for me to be able to have the trust I have in my bike and the Shimano components that I use. Between the bullet proof drivetrain and the feel and power of the brakes it gives me the confidence I need to be able to push hard and I really trust that stuff.”

Richie’s performance at each of these stops was a masterclass in Enduro racing. His victory at Finale Ligure set the tone for the season, but it was his ability to adapt and consistently perform in different terrains—from the steep descents of Leogang to the technical, rock-laden trails of Combloux—that defined his championship run. His closest rival in the series was consistently on his heels, but Richie’s commanding form, tactical precision, and physical fitness ensured he stayed one step ahead.

The series culminated in Loudenvielle, where Richie secured the overall series title with a second-place finish. His strategic riding demonstrated his depth of experience and ability to perform under pressure.

Bronze at the World Championships in Val di Fassa

Following his overall EDR Series victory, Richie's next challenge came at the first-ever UCI Enduro World Championship in Val di Fassa. Held in the stunning Italian Dolomites, the event presented riders with brutal conditions, including rapidly changing weather and treacherous terrain.

Throughout the race, Richie claimed three podium finishes in the individual stages, riding aggressively but with control. The competition was fierce, with riders pushing to the limit on each stage, but Richie’s composure and experience came through in the end. By the final stage, Richie found himself standing on the podium once again, this time with a well-earned bronze medal.

“We, everyone from Yeti, are extremely proud of what the team has accomplished this year,” said Damion Smith, Yeti Team manager. “It was an intense and demanding season and for Richie to earn yet another world Enduro title as well as Ryan Gilchrist walking away with the E-EDR championship it was a dream season. In addition to Ryan and Richie’s success, the rest of the team delivered great results as well, earning Yeti two overall team titles. It’s a true testament to the team’s relentless pursuit of excellence.”

Richie’s Legacy Grows Stronger

With his 2024 season wrapped up, Richie adds yet another accolade to his already impressive resume. His season-long consistency and ability to thrive under pressure were key factors in his victories, and his bronze medal at the World Championships showed his ability to rise to the occasion in the sport’s most prestigious events.

There’s no doubt that Richie’s accomplishments this year further cement his legacy as a dominant force in the world of Enduro racing. Congratulations to Richie on an incredible season.
